Plaza Fiesta, the Latino shopping center on Buford Highway in the Brookhaven–Chamblee corridor, marks Halloween and Día de los Muertos with a free afternoon celebration for children on Sunday, October 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. The mall gives away candy to the kids, and the event includes a costume contest, music and prizes. The bilingual English–Spanish event is a good fit for families who want to combine the costume fun of Halloween with the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition in one outing, and the indoor-outdoor mall setting has plenty of food stalls and shops for afterward.
