About this adventure
Rodolfo 'Rudy' Mendez Recreation Center in East Austin hosts Metzgiving, a free community Thanksgiving meal two weeks before the holiday. Neighbors of all ages share a Thanksgiving dinner outdoors, with entertainment, vendors, door prizes and a photo booth. No ID is required, and the event is open to everyone, which makes it a warm, low-key holiday outing for families with children. It is held outside, weather permitting, so bring a jacket. Volunteers and vendors can sign up through the recreation center.
