October's free Family Fun Day spans two Saturdays with hands-on activities about wildlife, from tiny insects to complex food webs, across the park. Future teachers from Texas State's Department of Curriculum and Instruction lead activities on the Headwaters lawn and the Department of Geography & Environmental Resources hosts stations; on Oct. 17 only, the Center for Archaeological Studies shares artifacts found around Spring Lake.
