The Town of Mount Airy and the Chabad Jewish Center of Carroll County celebrate the first night of Chanukah with their annual menorah lighting in the Railyard on Main Street. The evening includes a lighting ceremony, a gelt drop that children look forward to, entertainment, games, music and food. It runs from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, December 4, 2026, outdoors in downtown Mount Airy, so dress warmly. It is a community celebration open to all, a good chance for families to share in Chanukah traditions together.
