Santa Claus comes to town for Mount Airy's annual A Main Street Christmas. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm with the town tree-lighting ceremony in the Railyard (1 N. Main St.), led by the Mayor, Town Council and a group of honored local students. The holiday parade steps off at 6:30 pm from Mount Airy Elementary School down Main Street to Calvary United Methodist Church, with festive floats and performances from nonprofits, businesses and community groups, plus a visit from Santa himself. The event is free. Bundle up and find a curbside spot along Main Street early.
