About this adventure

On the evening Mount Vernon Place lights its Washington Monument, the Maryland Center for History and Culture on Park Avenue hosts a free, family-friendly holiday drop-in built around the sense of taste. Visitors sample American Heritage Chocolate, made from a recipe dating to the 1750s, warm up at a hot cocoa station, and sit down to decorate holiday cards and make traditional tin crafts to take home. The two hours fit neatly around the monument lighting a few blocks away, and the museum is open free all day for Free First Thursday, so families can see the galleries earlier in the day too. Registration is requested through MCHC's ticketing page.
