Roots are a vital part of every plant even though we rarely see them. In this 90-minute Cromwell Valley Park program, a naturalist explains the many jobs roots do, and then participants turn roots upside-down to make a 'roothead' — a quirky craft that gives roots a whole new look. The program is for ages 8 and up and the park notes it is 'NOT just for kids', so parents and grandparents can make one too. Cost is $3 per person and registration is required. It falls on a Saturday afternoon in late October, a nice add-on to a fall walk in the park.
