Riviera Beach Library and Ranger Jocelyn mark the return of the light with a winter solstice outing at Fort Smallwood Park in Pasadena. The program starts with a short solstice story for all ages, then families head out on a guided winter walk with the ranger along the park's Chesapeake shoreline. It lasts about an hour, starting at 4 pm so the walk ends around sunset. Registration is required, and the library notes that registering also gives free entrance to the park (which normally charges a vehicle entry fee). Bundle up and wear sturdy shoes. Suitable for all ages.
