On three Wednesday afternoons in December, Prudential Center sets up a holiday a cappella quartet and free hot cocoa in the Boylston Arcade next to Eataly. The singers, from Songful Artists, are professional Boston- and New York-based performers with a repertoire of winter and holiday songs, and Eataly provides the cocoa. It is a casual, drop-in stop rather than a ticketed concert: families can pause for a few songs and a warm drink between errands, after school or on the way to see the Back Bay decorations and the Prudential tower's nightly '31 Nights of Light' colors, which switch on around 5 pm each December evening. Each session lasts two hours, from 4 to 6 pm, inside the mall, so it works in any weather and with strollers.
