Archery 101 is a beginner's drop-off class for ages 10 to 13 at McDowell Nature Preserve. Participants learn basic archery terminology, practice proper form and safety with a recurve bow, and then put it to use with target practice. The group meets at the nature center and rides a county van out to the prairie where the archery range is; there are no bathrooms at the range, and participants should bring water and a snack. Pre-registration is required and adult participation is not; only two spots were left when checked.
