The 25th annual Jack O' Lantern Jaunt is a fall 5K at sunset through Frank Liske Park in Concord, run by Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks. A fun run for younger runners starts at 5 p.m. and the 5K at 5:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged, with a Best Dressed prize for male and female participants. Age-group awards go to the top three finishers in groups that start at 10 and under and 11–14, so children who run the full 5K can compete with their peers; the first 275 registered runners receive a custom finisher medal. Packet pickup is Friday, Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Frank Liske Park office. Registration fees are not listed on the county page.
