About this adventure

An after-dark lantern-light walking tour of the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer that traces railroad legends from North Carolina folklore. Starting at the Barber Junction Visitor's Center, guides lead the group through several buildings on site and tell stories of past tragedies and the rumors around them. The museum stresses it is not a ghost walk or haunted trail and nobody is intentionally frightened; it is appropriate for children over six and adults. Tours last about 90 minutes, much of it outdoors and in unheated industrial buildings, so bring a flashlight, water bottle and bug spray and wear comfortable shoes. All three 2026 tour times are marked sold out.
