Kids can hand-deliver their letters to Santa at the Elf Meetup on Thursday, December 10, from 4 to 5 pm at the gazebo in Wilmette's Mallinckrodt Park, 1041A Ridge Road. One of Santa's elves will be at the magical North Pole mailbox to make sure each letter is on its way, and there is a special holiday treat, free while supplies last. The park district calls it the last chance to send a letter before Santa's sleigh takes off; the mailbox itself takes letters from November 25 through December 11, and letters that include a self-addressed, stamped envelope get a reply from Santa.
