About this adventure
Navy Pier closes its free Slightly Spooky October series with a Halloween Saturday of indoor trick-or-treating and family activities. Trick-or-treating starts at 11 a.m. with candy stops throughout the Pier's indoor spaces and runs while candy supplies last. From 1 p.m. the schedule fills with free activities run by partner organizations: a dance workshop where kids learn the Power Rangers Ninjetti dance and perform it with the team (1–3 p.m.), mask making with the Chicago Children's Museum (1–4 p.m.), a community Good Tree where visitors add a word of goodness and make a ribbon bracelet, a vintage newspaper souvenir and a mechanical 'haunted pumpkin' strength test. A costume contest with Family, Duo and Individual categories runs from 3 to 5 p.m. In the evening Crystal Gardens screens short films at 5 p.m. and the feature Ghostbusters at 5:30 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by the R-rated horror film Halloween (1978). Bring a blanket or chair for the movies; food is sold by the Pier's shops and restaurants.
