Bring leftover pumpkins and gourds to the Rice Pool parking lot on Saturday, November 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and dispose of them in fun ways at the Wheaton Park District's pumpkin smash. Food trucks, kids' crafts and a children's activity area are part of the morning. Free. The event keeps old pumpkins out of the landfill, and kids get to smash them for a good cause. Bring your own pumpkins and gourds; food truck purchases are extra.
