- Forest Preserves of Cook County
The Forest Preserves of Cook County and the East Side Chamber of Commerce host a family Halloween trunk or treat at Eggers Grove on Chicago's far Southeast Side. It runs Sunday, October 25, from noon to 4 p.m., and the main attraction is candy handed out from decorated car trunks. Admission is free and the listing tags it for youth, arts and crafts and nature play. Eggers Grove is at East 112th Street and South Avenue E; dress children in costumes warm enough for an afternoon outdoors.
