About this adventure

Twigs to Trees is the Kane County Forest Preserve District's after-school nature club for children in kindergarten through second grade, an older-sibling version of its Little Saplings preschool program. Each monthly session takes a seasonal theme and explores it outdoors through nature-based play in the woods around Creek Bend Nature Center. December's session is a Winter Play Date: an hour of outdoor games, exploring and building in the cold-weather woods, so children should come dressed for the weather in boots, warm layers, hats and gloves. This is a drop-off program — parents and caregivers do not stay — which makes it a handy hour for families juggling younger siblings. Sessions are small and need advance registration with a fee of $5 per child. Questions go to the nature center staff at 630-444-3190.
