About this adventure

Little Saplings is a monthly nature class for three- to five-year-olds at Creek Bend Nature Center in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve. Each session follows a theme of the month and mixes stories, short nature hikes, songs, games and crafts for preschoolers and their grown-ups. December's theme is a Winter Play Date, an hour of playful exploring in the winter woods and around the nature center, a good way to burn off energy with other preschoolers during the busy holiday month. A parent or caregiver must stay with the child throughout. Dress little ones in snow pants, boots and mittens in case the group heads outside. Registration is required in advance and the fee is $5 per child. After class, families can look around the nature center's interactive exhibits.
