About this adventure

Kids ages 9 to 13 spend a Friday evening in the ceramics studio at Baker Hunt in Covington hand-building their own clay bobblehead. Instructor Charity Rust-Jordan walks students through the basics of hand building: shaping the head and body from pinch pots, attaching parts so the head can bobble, simple surface decoration and finishing techniques. It is a good first taste of pottery for children who like to make characters, pets or self-portraits. Because the pieces must be fired twice after the workshop, students do not take them home that night; Baker Hunt emails families when the finished bobbleheads are ready to pick up. All supplies are included in the fee.
