About this adventure
Rocky River Nature Center in the Rocky River valley has a deck that hangs out over the river with a view of a 360-million-year-old shale cliff. Indoor exhibits take children back through time to the valley's early inhabitants, including Dunkleosteus, the giant armored fish of the Devonian sea. Trails leave from the center, and naturalists run storytimes, StarLab planetarium stories and seasonal drop-by tables (dates on the Metroparks calendar).
