About this adventure
Franklin Park Conservatory celebrates Fibonacci Day early, on Sunday, November 22, as part of its Math in Bloom program with the Simons Foundation. The afternoon explores how the 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 sequence shows up in plant growth and spirals in nature. A mathematician and a horticulturist lead guided tours of the biomes pointing out plants that follow these patterns; families can make Fibonacci-spiral artwork, write at a nature-poetry station, and try an interactive music station that turns a plant's bio-signals into sound. A morning winter birding walk (listed separately) adds a suet pinecone birdfeeder craft. It is billed for all ages and included with admission, making it a good fit for curious elementary and middle-school kids.
