A hands-on introduction to fishing for children ages 6 to 10 and one accompanying adult, held at the Fort Worth Zoo. An experienced angler walks kids through the basics of fishing and shares a few tricks for their next trip to a fishing hole, followed by a casting demonstration. Each session runs about 90 minutes and two sessions are offered on the same morning. The fee covers the seminar, the demonstration, general admission to the Zoo for the rest of the day and a new rod and reel for each child, provided by the Fort Worth Sports Commission. It suits both first-timers and families who already fish. Registration is online through the Zoo's education system, which requires creating a family profile first; Zoo members get a 10 percent discount.
