Texas Discovery Gardens in Fair Park holds a holiday-themed Homeschool Day on Thursday, December 3, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. The theme is the legend of the Christmas spider. Families learn how arachnids engineer their webs and why they matter in ecosystems. You move at your own pace between activity stations around the gardens, indoors and outdoors. Each one has a hands-on activity, experiment, craft, animal encounter or other interactive experience tied to the theme. Staff move stations inside in bad weather. Families can also visit the Butterfly House and gardens while they're there. There's no indoor dining space, so bring a picnic lunch to eat outside. You must register in advance through the Homeschool Days page. An earlier session in the same series, 'The Great Pumpkin Investigation,' is on November 5.
