A two-hour, hands-on STEM class for children aged 5 to 9 at River Legacy Nature Center in Arlington. Each child builds their own insect inn, a small shelter for bugs, from natural materials such as sticks, pinecones and leaves. While they build, they learn which garden insects are helpful and why those insects need safe places to rest and hide. The class meets on Monday, November 2, from 10 am to noon. It suits young builders and bug enthusiasts, including homeschoolers. Registration and payment go through the nature center's Jumbula registration page, which lists the fee; it is not printed on the event page. There are no refunds for absences or cancellations, including for weather, and payments are treated as a donation to environmental education.
