Creature Features are short, free animal talks at River Legacy Nature Center in Arlington. In each one a naturalist introduces one of the center's animal ambassadors and explains its adaptations, behavior, lifestyle and natural history. The October 31 session features a Sonoran gopher snake, and the November 28 session (Thanksgiving weekend) features salamanders. The English presentation runs from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, followed by a Spanish-language session, Explora las Criaturas, at 3:00 pm; each language has its own RSVP. RSVP is required and space is limited. The naturalist confirms attendance by email or phone, and visitors should arrive a few minutes early. The half-hour format suits young children, and the Spanish session makes it accessible to Spanish-speaking families.
