River Legacy Nature Center in Arlington runs 90-minute nature classes for preschoolers aged 2½ to 4, each attended with an adult partner. Each session covers one animal: skunks on October 22, bats on November 5 and woodpeckers on November 19. Children spend part of the time in a preschool classroom and part on a short outdoor hike, so dress for both and wear closed-toed shoes. Registration is required. The $25 fee covers one child and one adult; register a second child as an "Additional Child" on the same date. The classroom is not suitable for children under 2½, but a younger sibling can come free if kept in a stroller or carrier. Space is limited, and there are no refunds or transfers for absences or cancellations. Classes run from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the nature center in River Legacy Park.
