First United Methodist Church of Denton (FUMC Denton) holds its annual Trunk or Treat: Share the Harvest on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church at 201 S. Locust St. The free community event has decorated car trunks handing out candy, festival games and bounce houses, and it goes ahead rain or shine: if it rains, the celebration moves indoors. As part of the tradition the church collects non-perishable food during the event; this year all canned goods go to Rivera Elementary School for Thanksgiving week, alongside turkeys sponsored by the church's missions team, so families who want to take part can bring a can or two. The church stresses that everyone is welcome, whether they come to trunk-or-treat, play games or simply join the celebration. A two-hour Sunday-evening slot a week before Halloween gives toddlers and young children an early, contained chance to wear their costumes.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Read from the Discover Denton (official Denton CVB) Simpleview event API with curl: events_by_date with a title regex, then plugins_events_events by recid. recid 12226: startDate 2026-10-25 (Sunday), 17:00–19:00, admission 'Free'. The church's own linked page (fumcdenton.com) was not opened; its URL slug still says 'halloween-drive-thru' from an earlier year. Rain plan (move indoors) is from the listing text.
