About this adventure
Downtown Denver's 52nd annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights rolls through downtown on the first Saturday of December, produced by the Downtown Denver Partnership. The hour-long evening parade brings more than 40 lighted floats, giant balloons, cultural groups, marching bands, equestrian units and holiday characters, with appearances by Major Waddles the penguin and Santa Claus at the end. Watching from the curb along the route is free; reserved Grandstand and VIP Grandstand seats on Bannock Street are sold in advance through the organizer's ticket page with no refunds. Dress little ones warmly, come early for a curb spot, and plan transit because downtown streets close.
