Farmington Community Library invites families to celebrate Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), the tradition of honoring and remembering loved ones who have passed. During the two-hour program, families learn about the history and traditions of the holiday, including the meaning of the ofrenda (altar), what is placed on it and its role in celebrating the lives of those remembered. There is entertainment, children can make a sugar skull craft, and anyone who wishes can bring a photo of a loved one to share. Food is offered. The celebration is for all ages, free and open to the public with no library card or registration needed. It takes place Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room at the FCL Farmington branch on Liberty Street.
