Santa's Mailbox at Kirksey Recreation Center — Livonia

About this adventure

Santa's red mailbox returns to Livonia's Kirksey Recreation Center for the holiday season. Children can drop off a letter to Santa any day from Monday, November 9 through Sunday, December 13, and the city makes sure it gets a reply before Christmas. There is no cost to mail a letter; the one requirement is that the child's name and home address are written on the letter so Santa's answer reaches the right house. It is an easy holiday tradition for preschoolers and early elementary kids, who can draw a picture or write a wish list at home and then post it themselves during a visit to the recreation center, for example on the way to a swim or a class. Parents of younger children may want to help with the address, and drop off letters early in the window to leave time for Santa's reply.
