Troy Public Library celebrates Diwali, the Festival of Lights, with an evening of crafts for kids, tweens, teens and families. Participants decorate a CD with sequins, gems and bright designs to make a sparkling diya centerpiece with a tea light in the middle, build a colorful pom-pom garland featuring a paper diya, and create a 3D Diwali lantern to hang in a room or window. Mandala coloring sheets are available for anyone who wants a quieter activity. Vegetable samosas and chutney are served while supplies last. The program runs Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the library's Meeting Room. Children 6 and older may attend while their caregiver uses other areas of the library; children 6-12 are released only to their adult at the door. No registration or fee is listed.
