The national tour of Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, a musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, plays three performances at the Fox Theatre: Friday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The story moves Dickens' tale to the 1930s Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Ebenezer Scrooge owns a mining company town, and on the eve of a Christmas Eve snowstorm he is visited by his late partner and three ghosts. One dollar from each ticket goes to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which gifts books to children from birth to age five. Doors open 60 minutes before showtime.
