An evening owl program at the Lake St. Clair Metropark Nature Center built for families with younger children. Naturalists introduce Michigan's owls and other nocturnal animals indoors, lead a short listening walk on compact gravel trails as dusk falls, then bring everyone back to the nature center for an owl craft and simple owl-themed activities. Owls are never guaranteed, so the focus is on listening, exploring and asking questions. The program runs about 90 minutes, takes place partly indoors and partly outdoors, and every child must come with a registered adult. Dress for an October evening outdoors and register online ahead of time.
