Deck the Hall, presented by Reliant, is the City of Houston's holiday kickoff at Hermann Square in front of City Hall, and the Mayor's Office of Special Events lists the 2026 edition for Saturday, December 5, 2026. The event centres on the Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting with an evening of live music on the main stage. At the most recent edition the city added a Winter Wonderland Kids Activity Zone on the library plaza with crafts and games, food trucks with seasonal treats, and a fireworks finale launched from the City Hall roof; the 2026 performers and activities have not yet been posted. Plan for downtown parking and big crowds, and bring layers for an outdoor evening.
