Ice at the Galleria runs one of Houston's largest Learn to Skate group programs, serving more than 650 skaters a semester across about 95 weekly group classes, from tots and beginners to advancing figure skaters and adults. Classes run in 8-week semesters year-round; the fall 2026 semester runs October 19 to December 20, 2026, with continuous enrollment, so children can still join partway through. Members also get more than 80 hours of free public skating to practice, and skaters can take part in showcases, the annual Nutcracker show and the Galleria's tree lighting performance. Extras include off-ice classes, a tot specialty class (Elite Tot Excellence), holiday camps and private lessons. One missed class per semester can be made up within that semester. Registration is online through the rink's DaySmart portal, and the rink does not refund Learn to Skate registrations because classes often fill.
