About this adventure

The Indiana State Museum opens free to everyone on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to honor Dr. King's legacy. The day features multicultural performances, a community mural visitors help create, video highlights of King's best-known speeches and hands-on collaborative activities built around service and community. Visitors can see original copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment signed by Abraham Lincoln, and the curator of social history is on hand to talk and show objects from the collection; the galleries, including the Nikon Small World photomicrography exhibit, are open as usual. No pre-registration is needed. The museum invites donations to Gleaners Food Bank, and free parking in the White River State Park garage is first come, first served.
