About this adventure

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens' long-running Halloween night event, now in its 39th year, reopens the zoo after hours as a one-way trail of lights and Halloween scenes. Families walk through a 400-foot light tunnel, meet the Witches of Trout River, dance at the Skeleton Disco and stop at trick-or-treat stations; children leave with a small goody bag (treats are for children only). An optional Scare Zone sits off the main trail for those who want a few frights, so families with young children can skip it. Costumes are encouraged, but full-face masks are allowed only for guests 10 and under, weapon-like props are not allowed, and inflatable costumes should be left at home. Some areas use strobe lighting. Animals are mostly not visible because the event runs after dark. Tickets are sold online only for one of two timed entry windows (6:00-7:30 pm or 7:30-9:00 pm); buying at least a day ahead saves $5. The event runs rain or shine.
