Families welcome the start of winter at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve with a relaxed, self-guided afternoon. The classroom is open with seasonal crafts and refreshments, and visitors learn why the solstice marks the longest night of the year while making simple nature-inspired crafts to take home. Take a walk around the ponds before or after. The event runs from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday December 20; register through Henderson Happenings.
