A wintry science-and-craft hour for children ages 5 to 12 with a parent or caregiver at the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library. Kids learn the science behind how snowflakes form and why they take the shapes they do, then design and create their own snowflake to take home; all materials are provided. It runs 4 to 5 pm on Wednesday, December 16, just before the winter solstice. Attendance is limited and advance registration is required for every person in the party, including kids.
