About this adventure
A small-group after-school cooking series for kids 6 to 12 that teaches real kitchen skills, and the reasons behind them, step by step. Over the school year children cover kitchen safety, mixing and measuring, age-appropriate knife and food-prep skills, cooking safely with heat (sautéing, simmering, baking), following recipes and solving kitchen problems, and cleanup. Each term has a theme: fall is Mixing and Measuring, winter is Cooking with Heat. Instructors adjust support and challenge to each child's level. The kitchen also runs day-off-school cooking classes for ages 5–12 tied to local district calendars.
