About this adventure
Weekend drop-in programs in the Great Hall of the visitor center. At a Raptor Encounter, staff bring out one or two birds from the raptor program, which cares for hawks, owls, eagles and falcons as well as an American crow and a turkey vulture that cannot be released, and talk about each bird's skills and adaptations. On Sunday afternoons volunteer Nature Ambassadors introduce visitors to the reptile and amphibian ambassadors, offer guided hikes and share what they know about local ecosystems; stop by to see what is on offer that day. Both are free with admission and wheelchair accessible.
