About this adventure

A 185-acre nature center on the Lake Michigan shore in the North Shore area, with six miles of trails through forests, ponds, ravines, restored prairies and lakeshore, including a growing network of wheelchair-accessible paths and boardwalks. Indoors, the visitor center has an Animal Ambassador team of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, a mezzanine art gallery with seasonal exhibits, and the Nature Store. The center's raptor program cares for non-releasable hawks, owls, eagles and falcons that appear at regular encounters. A good pick for a family hike in any season; waterproof footwear helps in wet months.
