Before the Conservatory opens to the public, Como runs early-morning sessions for families, photographers and artists to take photos, sketch or paint among the gardens and seasonal displays without the crowds. It is popular for holiday family portraits: Sunday, December 6 has a Santa visit, and December 13 adds an evening session. Bring your own camera or art supplies; tripods and easels are welcome. Enter through the Conservatory's Historic Entrance. No registration is needed, and the fee is $5 cash per person, paid at the door. Holiday-season sessions: November 21 and 28, December 5, 6 and 13, 8-10 a.m. (plus 4:30-6 p.m. on December 13).
