About this adventure

Stages Theatre Company in Hopkins sets aside one Sensory Friendly performance of its holiday musical Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the stage version of the TV special in which Rudolph, Hermey and Yukon Cornelius leave Christmastown, meet the misfits and end up saving Santa's sleigh in a storm. The show is recommended for all ages and runs about 75 minutes with a brief intermission, a good length for preschoolers and early-elementary kids. This performance is built for children and adults with autism, sensory processing disorder and other sensory, social or cognitive disabilities and mental health diagnoses: the house lights stay on, loud noises and intense lighting are lowered or cut, the crowd is kept smaller and audience members can move around during the show. Stages sends a social narrative and plot summary ahead of time, and fidgets and noise-cancelling headphones are available, or bring your own comfort items.
