About this adventure

A four-day Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) display in Mall of America's Atrium. The centerpiece is an ofrenda (altar) by Minnesota artisan Margarita Sandoval, built around marigolds, monarch butterflies and remembrance and drawing on her Mexican heritage; the mall invites visitors to honor loved ones and reflect on connections between past and present. The Aztec dance group Mexica Yolotl performs traditional dances at noon on Friday, October 30 and Sunday, November 1. The display is in a public area of the mall during mall hours and no ticket is mentioned, which makes it an easy stop for families learning about the holiday.
