About this adventure
Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation's Wilderness Station runs an overnight Family Campout at Barfield Crescent Park from 2 pm Saturday, November 7 to 9 am Sunday, November 8. It is backpacking made as family-friendly as possible: families start with an easy one-mile hike to the campground, where park staff help set up and settle in. Activities are planned through the evening for those who want to take part, including guided night hikes and campfire time, or families can simply relax by the fire and sleep under the stars. Dinner and breakfast are provided and included in the fee. Registration is online through the city's recreation system: $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 5 to 12, and free for children 4 and under.
