Family Sunday at the Frist — December

About this adventure

On selected Sundays the Frist Art Museum adds kid-friendly programming, family tours and multisensory gallery experiences to its regular afternoon hours. The December Family Sunday runs from 1 to 5 pm, and the Martin ArtQuest gallery is open the same afternoon with hands-on stations where children paint, make prints, try simple animation and more. Families can combine the art-making with a visit to the current exhibitions, which include Beauty and Ritual: Judaica from the Jewish Museum, New York, and Shimmer: Dreaming the Posthuman. Guests aged 18 and younger and members get in free; adults who are not members need gallery admission. It suits families with children of all ages, and a drop-in visit of an hour or two works well.
