About this adventure
At this Hermitage homeschool day, children recreate Christmas 1836 at Andrew Jackson's White House, a season remembered for community service, grand banquets and an epic snowball fight. Students play period games, make ornaments and drink hot chocolate, and in the spirit of the season they work on a community service project that benefits local family services organizations. Activities are designed for ages 5 to 11 but are open to all, and the program runs from 10 am to 1 pm. Mansion tours are not included but can be added for a fee. Families can bring a picnic, and leashed dogs are welcome. Buying tickets in advance guarantees a spot; walk-ups depend on availability.
