About this adventure
The Nashville Symphony's How America Found Its Sound, an original composition by the Symphony, takes families on a musical journey through how the music of many cultures came together to shape the sound of the nation, from the earliest songs of Native American communities to the blues, jazz and American folk music. The program centers on rhythm and on the act of gathering together, and marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. The concert is Sunday, November 15 at 3 pm at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. It is part of the Ann & Monroe Carell Family Trust Family Series, the Nashville Symphony's Sunday-afternoon concerts that introduce young listeners to the orchestra through storytelling and interactive fun. Families are invited to arrive early for sensory-friendly activities, including the instrument petting zoo, where kids can try orchestra instruments up close before the show.
