LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park runs two ice surfaces every winter — the Open Air Rink and the Covered Rink, linked by a bridge when both are open for public skating. Ice skating returns on October 31, 2026. Public sessions are open to skaters of all ages and levels: pay admission (and skate rental if needed) at the lobby cashier, or reserve online once registration opens on October 26, then circle the ice to pop music. Daytime public skating on the Open Air Rink runs 9 am–6 pm every day, with covered-rink sessions around midday, plus Friday and Saturday evening sessions; extra sessions appear on the master schedule. Weekday daytime admission is the budget option, with a $5 Monday special; evenings, weekends and holiday weeks (Thanksgiving weekend, December 24–January 1, MLK Day) cost more. Families should know the rink rules: skaters 13 and under must be supervised by a parent or guardian 18 or older, only skaters 14+ can buy admission and rentals, children may not be carried on the ice, and socks are required with rental skates. Duck Island Cafe inside the building serves food and hot drinks with views of the ice, and the B/Q trains to Prospect Park station are a short walk away.
